       The department “Botanic” was founded in 1930 in the Central Asian Agricultural Institute. By the initiative of the well-known botanist, the Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor V.P. Drobomov, the Department “Botany” was established. For many years he (1930-1956) headed the department of “Botany”. In 1956-1985 the head of the department was the Honored Scientist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor V. Burigin. In 1985-2004, the department was headed by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor I.V. Belolipov. From 2004 to 2010, the department was headed by Professor H. Atabaeva, in these years the name of the department was “Crop production and botany”. In 2010-2013, the head of the department "Phytopathology of Agriculture and Biotechnology" was Professor B.A. Khasanov. In 2013-2015, the Department of “Phytopathology of Agriculture and Biotechnology” was headed by Associate Professor U.Kh.Rakhimov.

       In 2015-2017, the Department of “Agrobiotechnology and Botany” was headed by Associate Professor U.H.Rakhimov. In 2017-2018, the Department of “Medicinal Plants and Botany” was headed by Associate Professor K. Bukhorov. Since May 22, 2018, Associate Professor K. Bukhorov, Head of the Department of “Ecological Safety in Agriculture and Botany”. For many years, the department staff has been studying different species and the composition of cotton weeds, alfalfa, maize, fruit and vegetable crops in agrocenoses. Employees of the department have developed a map of different types of farms in Tashkent and Jizzakh regions. Also created a map of contamination by wizards from the educational field of the University. Also, scientific research is being conducted to study the salt-bearing areas of Aralia, and on this basis a map of large-scale salinity has been developed. More than 1000 scientific works were studied, 15 monographs were developed, including those written by V.A. Burigina and F.Kh. Jdangurazova textbook "Botany", Kamilova F. and Jhanguraz F.Kh. textbook "Practical lesson on botany", Sheraliev A.Sh., Belolipov I.V. textbook "Botany and plant physiology", Belolipov I.V. and others. "Laboratory work on botany", Belolipov I.V., Sheraliev A., Bukharov K.Kh. "Plant morphology", Alimova S.A., Sagdiev M.T. , "Physiology and biochemistry of plants". In recent years, on the initiative of the department staff, textbooks and tutorials "Plant Morphology of Central Asia" (I.V. Belolipov, etc.) were published, the "Red Book" (I.V. Belolipov, etc.), "The Flora of Uzbekistan" was developed. "(I.V. Belolipov and others)," Fundamentals of ecology and geography of plants "(I.V. Belolipov, etc.),"Natural resources, rational use and protection "(I.V. Belolipov, etc.). At the invitation of the British University in 1992, 1995, 1998, the head of the department, Professor I.V. Belolipov participated in conferences and lectures on the introduction, adaptation and protection of the plant world of Central Asia. Employees of the department collaborate with the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Research Institute of Botany, the Institute of Crop Production, the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Protection. The scientific staff of the department conduct active events in the field of botany and environmental protection. Actively participate in regional and international scientific conferences.

Yuldasheva 1 st., Assistants G.Kamalova, A.M.Islamov 1 st. , Sh.A.Abdurasulov, G.Chorieva, H.Suleymanov, M.Manova 0.75 Art., F.Kuldasheva, H. Boboev 0.25 Art. and laboratory assistants Sh. Koziev, M. Akbarov. Currently, the scientific potential of the department is 52%, of which 1 professor, 9 candidates of sciences, associate professors, 2 senior teachers, 7 assistants, 2 laboratory assistants.  In recent years, the department has published more than 20 teaching and methodological manuals for professors and teachers. In recent years, the department has published 2 textbooks, 5 textbooks, 10 textbooks, 15 manuals, 2 monographs, over 100 scientific articles and references in the state language. In national and international publications published more than 30 scientific articles. Professors and teachers of the department take part in scientific conferences held in foreign countries.
