Project name and number - 586000-EPP-1-2017-PT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP - BUZNET: Joint training of the veterinary network of Uzbekistan

   Information about the project (its purpose, planned and achieved results) - Description: The joint development of the veterinary network of Uzbekistan, the BUZNET project is implemented by a consortium of four European universities and four universities in Uzbekistan. The overall goal of this project is to improve the living standards of Uzbek citizens by improving veterinary and zootechnical education, which in turn will help improve the safety of local livestock owners and livestock products for general consumption.
This is done taking into account the characteristics of the local environment and the use of improved teaching methods in applied veterinary and animal sciences.
To gain full confidence in the future, a number of studies and local visits by European experts will be conducted to gain a clear understanding of the current state of veterinary clinics, livestock and milk quality control in Uzbekistan. Later, a group of Uzbek teachers will learn new approaches to teaching and applying teaching strategies in European universities.

   At the same time, the existing curricula and material and technical base of Uzbek universities will be updated, which will allow to fully implement the new educational strategy in the third year of the project. The project will be based on the use of an integrated learning interface (BLUzVet) to help create an educational network of project consortium members, teachers, students and veterinarians. The information will be used by the students in practical exercises under the guidance of teachers and with all members of the consortium for use by students during the exam. The system will then be extended to new members in other countries and regions. The network of the project will unite veterinary universities and improve educational standards in the field of veterinary, animal husbandry and milk quality control in Uzbekistan and abroad.
The total budget of the project for higher education institutions of the republic - 971,852 euros, 36 months, 1/11/2017 - 1/12/2019, Samarkand Agricultural Institute - 168,404 euros, Tashkent State Agrarian University - 166,594 euros, Andijan Agricultural Institute - 110,185 euros, Tashkent State Agrarian University Nukus branch - 115,305 euros.
