In Andijan region, Andijan district, a two-day seminar-training was organized to attract unemployed women and youth to agribusiness, increase their capacity and “self-employment”. This event was organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the “Women of the Agrarian Sector” Association, the Andijan regional administration, the German Development Bank (KfW) and Business and Finance Consulting (BFC) GmbH. The training on the topic “Organization of modern agricultural production on protected soils. Business planning and financing, marketing and branding in agriculture” was attended by Professor S. Yunusov, Head of the Department of Vegetable Growing and Greenhouse Farming at the Tashkent State Agricultural University, as a speaker. According to information, today, of the more than 650,000 hectares of household land in our country, about 44,900 hectares or 6.9 percent fall on Andijan region. One of the areas where small plots of land in households can be highly profitable is the cultivation of agricultural crops in protected areas. This seminar-training provided participants with important knowledge and skills in modern agricultural technologies, business planning, marketing and branding. Through such events, new opportunities are being created to increase the income of local residents and develop agribusiness.
