Women farmers training program new phase

The new phase of the women farmers training programe project "improvement of skills and knowledge in the practice of agriculture, agribusiness and the sharing of experiences of Uzbek women farmers" started in April 2018.  In accordance with the plan of implementation of the project, two experts conducted a study to assess the needs of women farmers. Questionnaires have been prepared based on previous trainings and their results included in the report on the current situation of farms in agriculture of Uzbekistan.

Issued 13 training modules on innovative topics, prepared by the international  agricultural research centers associated members of the Association of agricultural research institutions in Central Asia and the Caucasus (CACAARI): the “ WorldVeg” World Vegetable Centre, the International Water Management Institute and national research institutions and organizations of Uzbekistan-Tashkent State Agrarian University, Center for Agri information and innovation of Farmers Council Of the Republic of Uzbekistan within the framework of training programe for women farmers, with the support and assistance in the preparation and editing   the modules  group of Faculty Exchange Program FEP fellows graduated in the program of the United States Department of Agriculture for  post-Soviet countries agrarian universities professor-teachers.

Publication of training modules for farmers was approved and recommended by the Scientific-Methodical Council of the TSAU.

Approach this phase is a training program through the creation of conditions for practical work and participation in seminar- trainings in greenhouses and field plots. Modules and presentations have been prepared with the demonstration of innovative technologies of cultivation of vegetables and fruits, as well as the processing and drying of products. Over 100 leader women farmers were selected for trainings from the needs assessment study and peer review requirements from regions of Uzbekistan. 

Within the framework of the project creates Agro Technical Park Service Center with laboratories and field demonstration plots in the fields and in the greenhouses at the scientific research station of TASU for research and training.

The first workshop was held December 6-7, 2018 with the exhibition of innovative development of young scientists of TSAU on the same floor where the seminar training was held.  The leader women farmers were invited to the seminar, of the Tashkent region, as well as observers’ representatives of Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. After the seminar held the special session of the regional consultations, with participation of representatives from Central Asian countries on the consultation discussions of the learning experiences of women farmers in the countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus region. According to the results of the survey the audience appreciated training seminar this approach as a useful and fruitful seminar training presentations and practical work during training with the opportunity to showcase the innovation and participation. As the completion of this phase of the project was the second training seminar for women farmers of Syrdarya and Tashkent regions held April 25, 2019  for leaders of women farmers, specialized in the production of cotton and wheat, they were prepared and published special tutorials.

This workshop was also appreciated by farmers as a fruitful and very useful for the practical study of new innovations in the production of cotton and wheat they proposed recommendations on the continuation of this programme support women farmers to make a farmer of Syrdarya region at the workshop it was noted that the number of women farmers after optimization has been significantly reduced and such trainings help farmers better organize production, develop innovative design and at the lowest possible cost to ensure guaranteed yields with high production efficiency, thereby increasing confidence in its work and the future.
