Tomorrow, October 21, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev sent a congratulatory message on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the official status of the Uzbek language.
“Dear compatriots!
First of all, I sincerely congratulate you, dear people, and through you all our people on the great holiday - the Day of the Uzbek language.
Of course, we all know that this holiday, which in recent years has been widely celebrated in our country in a new spirit, has a special charm and splendor. On this anniversary, we feel more deeply the history and destiny of our native language, which is the flower of our national values, its place and importance in our lives today, and the urgent tasks ahead in its development.
Dear friends!
As you know, in recent years in Uzbekistan, as in all areas and sectors, our policy and practical work to further enhance the value and prestige of our native language is rising to a new level. Proof of this can be seen in the historical decrees and resolutions adopted to radically increase the status and prestige of the Uzbek language as the state language.
As a result of such efforts, our native language is gaining its rightful place and status not only in our country, but also in the world. We are especially pleased that our native language is being heard at the highest rostrum of the United Nations, at major political summits and meetings, and is becoming a tool for peace, friendship and cooperation.
The Department of State Language Development and the Uzbek Language Development Fund have been working effectively within the Cabinet of Ministers and coordinating the work in this important area.
The Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi has opened new directions in applied philology and computer linguistics, and is conducting research on the use of the Uzbek language in various fields. It is noteworthy that the University has established a center for teaching and improving the basics of office work in the state language, 6 special training courses and the Alisher Navoi International Foundation.
As an integral part of this work, in the near future the Alisher Navoi International Institute will be established, the main task of which is to popularize the Uzbek language, culture and national traditions abroad, to strengthen humanitarian ties.
It should be noted that in a short period of time, 16 books, including 9 dictionaries, have been published, which serve for in-depth study and teaching of the Uzbek language. At present, the 5-volume "Explanatory Dictionary of the Uzbek language" has been delivered to ministries and departments, educational institutions, diplomatic missions and consulates of our country abroad. There is also an online platform that teaches Uzbek to foreigners and our compatriots,
The mobile application of the Uzbek dictionary and the creation of a special website for our compatriots abroad are also important.
Uzbekistan's membership in the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States not only strengthens economic ties within the Organization, but also enhances the international prestige of Turkic languages, in particular Uzbek. The establishment of the Alisher Navoi International Prize at the initiative of our country is an expression of high respect for the memory and invaluable heritage of our great ancestor, our people, who brought up such great people.
Today, there are 150 national cultural centers in the country, along with Uzbek, there are media outlets in Karakalpak, Russian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Turkmen, and the educational process in our schools is in 7 languages. it is worth noting that this is a unique experience in world practice. The growing number of foreign language schools in our country is also a result of significant changes in this area.
Dear compatriots!
We all understand that we have a great and responsible task ahead of us to further develop the Uzbek language, to strengthen its role and prestige as the state language.
Given the growing interest and attention to the study of the Uzbek language among people of different nationalities and foreigners living in our country, work is underway to increase the volume of special textbooks, dictionaries and manuals, video and audio materials for them. we need to strengthen it further.
We must mobilize all our efforts and opportunities to make the Uzbek language a language dear to all our citizens, to increase its attractiveness, and to this end we must use not only spiritual, but also financial incentives. In particular, to develop a special program to appreciate the hard and honorable work of our linguists and lexicographers, poets and writers in this field, to publish their research, textbooks and manuals, books and pamphlets in the form of government orders and to the general public. we need to do.
Accelerate the creation of the Uzbek National Corps, which will contain all the information on the state language, popularize our native language on the global Internet and ensure its strong position in this space, as well as accelerate the creation of Uzbek software applications. is an urgent task before us.
Dear and respected compatriots!
Today, our noble aspirations and efforts to build a new Uzbekistan are reaching a decisive stage. In this way, our native language, which is a symbol of our national identity and pride, will undoubtedly serve as a source of incomparable strength and inspiration.
Long live our people, who live with such a vital faith and great purpose!
