As part of the global project “Sustainable Development of the Cotton Industry and Increasing Added Value,” implemented in Uzbekistan by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) of Germany, another important event has been organized. From July 14 to 16 of this year, a training course for local experts is being held in Tashkent in collaboration with one of the project’s partners — the German consulting company “GOPA AFC” — within the framework of the “Better Cotton” (BCI) program. This training is conducted in Russian and Uzbek languages with the participation of international experts. The main goal of the event is to further strengthen the knowledge and skills of local specialists and to train them in sustainable cotton farming principles. A group of researchers and mentors from Tashkent State Agrarian University is participating in the training sessions, enhancing their knowledge and skills in cotton production.
This educational program is also significant for its contribution to the widespread adoption of sustainable agricultural practices in the country, environmental protection, and improving the livelihoods of farmers.
