International projects
Today, Tashkent is hosting international forums dedicated to International Cotton Day and food security issues in landlocked developing countries. The forums bring together scientists, experts, entrepreneurs, representatives of international organizations, and industry specialists from more than 30 countries around the world.
The team of Tashkent State Agrarian University is also actively participating in these prestigious events. University representatives, together with international experts and leading specialists, are exchanging views on current issues related to cotton production, food security, the introduction of modern agricultural technologies, the development of agriculture in the context of climate change, and the deep processing of agricultural products.
The forums address new trends in the global agricultural sector, innovative technologies, best practices for the efficient use of water and land resources, as well as ways to improve product storage and logistics systems.
A delegation led by Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), visited Tashkent State Agrarian University (TDAU), accompanied by Minister of Agriculture Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov. The guests were welcomed by Narzullo Oblomuradov, Rector of TDAU, and Munira Aminova, Rector of the International University of Agriculture.
During the visit, the FAO Director-General and members of the delegation were briefed on the university’s educational, research and practical activities, areas of international cooperation, material and technical facilities, as well as the modern conditions provided for students. During an introductory tour of the university campus, the guests were shown the “Renaissance” Lecture Hall, an exhibition of advanced agricultural technologies and equipment, achievements and promising projects in the agricultural sector, as well as the activities of the Faculty of Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products, modern laboratories, the educational process and students’ practical training.
A meeting was held with the participation of the FAO Director-General, TDAU faculty members and students. The discussion focused on the development of agricultural education and science, the introduction of modern agricultural technologies, food security, adaptation to climate change, and the role of young professionals in the agricultural sector. During the meeting, students asked questions and shared their suggestions regarding international exchange of experience, participation in research projects, and the development of cooperation with FAO.
As part of the visit, a tree-planting event was also organized in the university garden. FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu took part in planting tree seedlings together with the students.
