At this upcoming event dedicated to the works of Henry David Thoreau—one of the most prominent figures in American philosophy—we will analyze Thoreau's ideas on simplicity, moral purity, and self-reliance through a modern lens. Specifically, we will explore how relevant Thoreau’s philosophy remains in addressing contemporary consumerism, the environmental crisis, and the essence of personal freedom.
Our guest speaker is Dr. Grace Mukupa, a scholar with extensive international experience! She is a professor at the International Agriculture University (IAU) in Tashkent and a data analyst for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (FEMA) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Holding a PhD from New York University, Dr. Mukupa has conducted scientific research across the globe, including projects under the prestigious Fulbright program.
