Psychologist

The Psychological Service of the Tashkent State Agrarian University serves to support the psychological health of students, professors, teachers, and university employees, create a healthy socio-psychological environment, and create favorable conditions for personal and professional development.
As an integral part of the university education process, the psychologist promotes students’ adaptation, psychological well-being, interpersonal relationships, stress management, and effective coping with various life situations. It also provides advice and practical assistance to faculty and staff on psychological issues related to their professional activities.
The activities of the psychological service are carried out on the principles of confidentiality, respect, impartiality, individual approach, and ensuring the personal integrity of the individual.

Main goal

The main purpose of the psychologist’s service is to form a healthy psychological environment at the University, ensure the psychological well — being of students and young people, support their personal and social adaptation, prevent possible psychological problems and promote the effectiveness of the educational process.

Priority areas of activity

The psychologist works in the following main areas:
• Individual and group psychological counseling for students, faculty, and staff;
• Supporting the adaptation and socio-psychological integration of students into the university environment;
• Organizing psychological diagnostics and, if necessary, activities aimed at studying the psychological state;
• Conduct preventive work to prevent stress, anxiety, emotional stress, and other psychological difficulties;
• To help students develop self-confidence, communication skills, motivation, and personal competencies;
• To identify psychological and social problems that arise during the educational process and develop recommendations for their elimination;
• Formation of healthy interpersonal relationships and a positive psychological environment among students;
• Organization of counseling and training aimed at reducing psychological stress in the professional activities of professors, teachers and employees;
• Conducting seminars, trainings, roundtables, and outreach events aimed at improving psychological culture;
• Working individually with students who require additional attention for social, educational, or psychological reasons;
• Provide psychological support in collaboration with relevant experts and organizations, as appropriate;
• Implement initiatives aimed at developing a healthy, safe, and supportive psychological environment at the university.

Psychological counseling

The psychologist provides psychological advice and support to the student and university staff in various life, educational and professional situations.
In the consultation process, the individual characteristics of the individual, the current situation and the reasons for the appeal are taken into account. The psychologist will help the applicant to better understand the problem, assess the available possibilities and find ways to solve the situation constructively.
Psychological counseling can cover the following issues:
• Difficulties and motivation in the reading process;
• Stress and emotional strain;
• Adaptation to the university environment;
• Interpersonal relationships and communication;
• Self-confidence and personal development;
• Anxiety related to exams and important academic processes;
• Professional orientation and planning for future activities;

Psychological prevention and training

The university regularly organizes psychological trainings, seminars, roundtable discussions, and educational events to promote psychological health and prevent various problems.
The events will focus on topics such as stress management, effective communication, constructive conflict resolution, time management, motivation, leadership, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and personal development.

Working with students

Students, as important participants in university life, will be at the forefront of the Psychologist’s service.
New students are provided with psychological support to help them adapt to the university environment, effectively integrate into the learning process, establish healthy relationships with peers, and develop personally.
Students can also receive individual counseling on psychological issues of interest to them.

Cooperation with faculty and staff

The psychologist, in collaboration with university professors and staff, implements activities aimed at creating a healthy psychological environment in the educational and labor process.
Psychological counseling and practical recommendations are provided on issues related to professional burnout, stress, team relationships, communication, and work performance.

Resorting to psychological service

Every student, professor, and employee of the university can contact the Psychologist’s Office for psychological counseling.
Applications will be considered as much as possible in accordance with the principles of confidentiality and respect for the individual. The main goal of psychological assistance is to support a person, identify their internal resources, and help them overcome the current situation.
