The event was organized within the framework of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) project “Providing Technical Assistance for Effective Management of Hazardous Chemicals,” funded by the European Union, in cooperation with Tashkent State Agrarian University. The main objective of the seminar was to promote the practical application of modern, environmentally safe, and effective approaches to protecting agricultural crops from pests and diseases, ensure the rational use of chemical plant protection products, and expand the application of biological plant protection methods.
During the event, participants discussed the results of scientific and practical research conducted on cotton and grain crops, greenhouse tomatoes, and apple orchards. They also reviewed practical experience in applying IPM technologies and the practical aspects of biological plant protection methods. Participants of the field seminar gained practical insights into the application of IPM principles directly in agricultural fields. They received recommendations on monitoring plant diseases and pests, identifying their spread, using biological plant protection products, and applying chemical pesticides based on scientifically sound principles when necessary.
