At Tashkent State Agrarian University, a preventive event was held on December 1 — the “World AIDS Day” — under the slogan “Together Towards a Healthy Life.”

The event was opened by the university’s First Vice-Rector, J. Lapasov, who emphasized the importance of promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people and increasing awareness about HIV/AIDS. During the event, a wall newspaper contest was organized under the slogan “Together Towards a Healthy Life,” open discussions on HIV infection were held, educational brochures were distributed, and a voluntary “HIV status” testing campaign was conducted with the participation of students. Educational video clips on HIV were also shown on a large screen. In addition, the chief doctor of the regional AIDS Prevention Center, N. Adilova, provided detailed information about the epidemiological situation in the world, the region, and the country, as well as preventive measures.

At the end of the event, the winners of the wall newspaper contest were awarded, a Q&A session was held, and participants’ suggestions were discussed.
