Biotechnology
The field of study “Biotechnology” is focused on training specialists in the field of agricultural biotechnology who are able to develop innovative products, improve the gene pool of crops and animals, use microorganisms to increase yields and ensure food safety. Students study cell biology, molecular genetics, genetic engineering, fermentation technology, microbial biotechnology, bioinformatics, and environmental biotechnology. They gain skills in working with modern laboratory equipment, mastering methods of cloning, DNA analysis and the production of biological products. Graduates can work in agriculture, the food industry, pharmaceuticals, environmental institutions, and research organizations. This area plays an important role in the strategy of sustainable development, environmental security and food independence of Uzbekistan.
