Plant Protection and Quarantine
Plant Protection and Quarantine studies the biological and ecological characteristics, distribution areas and modern, environmentally safe and effective methods of controlling pests, plant diseases and weeds that damage agricultural crops.
Graduates of this programme are specialists with in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical skills in plant protection and quarantine. They are qualified to work in phytosanitary control agencies, plant quarantine services, research institutions, laboratories, agribusinesses and farms, and organisations responsible for the inspection of export and import products.
The training process is based on core disciplines such as phytopathology, entomology, plant quarantine, crop protection technologies, integrated pest management, agroecology and diagnostics.
Practical training takes place in quarantine laboratories, field experiment stations, phytosanitary services and research institutes.
