Department of Languages

The Department of Languages offers in-depth courses in English and German. Teachers organise their activities based on modern pedagogical approaches and work effectively to provide in-depth foreign language instruction to university students, develop language skills, and promote scientific and research activities.

The department has a high scientific potential and currently employs experienced professors and teachers with academic degrees. The department consists of 37 professors and teachers.

• 5 senior lecturers

The department pays special attention to the creation of scientific articles, textbooks and teaching aids, and regularly participates in scientific and practical conferences.

Highly qualified teachers and certificate holders

The department employs dedicated, highly qualified teachers who are well versed in modern teaching methods. Most of them have certificates such as IELTS, Goethe-Zertifikat, TOEFL, confirming their language proficiency at an international level, for example C1, B2. Also:

• Some teachers have participated in international projects and training programmes such as TESOL and DAAD;

• Teachers regularly participate in seminars and master classes on modern language teaching methods and improve their qualifications.

Student achievements and language certificate holders

As a result of the department’s educational and methodological activities, interest in learning foreign languages among students is growing every year. Every year, dozens of students take international language exams and achieve the following results:

The number of students with an IELTS score of 6.0 or higher is growing;

Some students have obtained German language certificates issued by the Goethe Institute;

Students have the opportunity to study, practise or conduct research abroad.

The main goal of the department is to train students with modern language skills that are competitive in the international labour market.
