“Izobella” strawberry variety – secrets of growing a high-yield and marketable crop

view 16

The “Izobella” variety is one of the early-ripening, high-yielding strawberry types with strong market demand. Its fruits are large, visually attractive, and distinguished by their sweet taste and pleasant aroma. With proper care, it is possible to obtain a high-quality and abundant harvest from this variety. For planting, it is important to choose fertile soils with good air and water permeability. The recommended soil pH level is around 5.5–6.5. Before planting, applying organic fertilizers such as well-rotted manure or compost improves soil fertility. Seedlings should be planted with row spacing of 60–70 cm and plant spacing of 25–30 cm. During planting, special attention should be paid to keeping the crown (root neck) level with the soil surface, as planting too deep or too shallow can negatively affect plant development. Irrigation is a key factor for the “Izobella” variety. Especially during flowering and fruit-setting periods, soil moisture must be sufficient. Drip irrigation is the most effective method, as it conserves water and reduces the risk of diseases. During cultivation, it is necessary to regularly remove weeds, loosen the soil, and apply mulching. Using straw or agrofabric as mulch helps retain moisture and keeps the fruits clean.
