Plant pathology
Phytopathology - training of highly qualified specialists with scientific and practical knowledge for in-depth study of plant diseases, their detection (diagnosis), analysis, understanding of the mechanisms of their spread and effective control. The study of phytopathogens involves the study of the biology and classification of viruses, fungi, bacteria and other pathogens. Disease detection and diagnosis - development of methods to detect plant diseases using microscopic, serological and molecular methods under laboratory and field conditions. Conducting scientific research - developing and implementing new strategies to control plant diseases. Graduates of this programme are prepared to become leaders in plant protection, phytosanitary control and scientific research. They work in research institutes, agricultural laboratories, phytosanitary services, companies producing biological control agents and in educational institutions.
