Rules for Storing a Tractor During Winter

view 156

Store the tractor indoors whenever possible. Inspect its condition every two months. Throughly clean the tractor with pressurized water to remove dirt and debris before storage.
If the tractor is stored indoors or under a shelter for an extended period, the fuel tanks, crankcases, and radiators should be drained of motor and hydraulic oil, as well as coolant, and replaced with preservative oil. The engine should be preserved according to the operating manual. Remove parts from the tractor, seal openings with protective plugs, and store the removed parts in a warehouse. Batteries and drive belts should also be removed and stored separately. If the tractor must be stored outdoors, cover it with a tarpaulin or polyethylene film. Apply protective compounds to the tire surfaces. Wrap hydraulic hoses with waxed paper if necessary.
