The Department of General Animal Science and Animal Technologies at Tashkent State Agrarian University is conducting research aimed at improving breeding and selection practices in sheep farming. Under the scientific supervision of Otabek Do‘schanov, a first-year doctoral researcher at the university, and I. A. Abduvasiqov, a department assistant, Bobir Bahodirovich Shayusupov is conducting research on producing high-productivity crossbred offspring through the artificial insemination of Bayad ewes imported from Mongolia using semen from Hisori rams.
The research is being conducted at the “Ibodulla ota yagona” farm in Konimex District, Navoi Region, and the “Xolto‘raev Sardor” farm in Akhangaran District, Tashkent Region.
The main objective of the research is to study the adaptability of Bayad sheep to local climatic and feeding conditions, assess their breeding characteristics, and improve selection and breeding practices. In addition, the study aims to evaluate the growth and development of the resulting crossbred offspring, their meat productivity, and their breeding performance, thereby enabling the effective use of the sheep’s genetic potential.
