From July 6 to 9 this year, the 5th Forum of Rectors of Agricultural Universities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States and the 11th Annual Conference of the Silk Road Alliance for Agricultural Education and Scientific-Technological Innovation were held in Xi'an, People's Republic of China.
The international event, themed "Scientific and Technological Innovations – The Future of Agriculture and Guarantee of Food Security," brought together representatives from 86 higher education and research institutions across 19 countries. Participants discussed agricultural education, science, digital transformation, food security, sustainable agriculture, and international cooperation.
Professors and lecturers from Tashkent State Agricultural University actively participated in the forum, presenting scientific reports on soil reclamation of saline lands, green technology-based crop cultivation, intensive horticulture, and modern agrotechnologies.
At the conclusion of the forum, promising areas of cooperation were identified to expand international partnership in agricultural education and science, implement innovative technologies, strengthen food security, and develop sustainable agriculture under climate change conditions.
