Students of Tashkent State Agrarian University are not only gaining theoretical knowledge, but are also testing the most modern technologies directly in practice.
As part of their educational internship, second-year students of the Agricultural Crop Breeding and Seed Production program visited the Cotton Breeding, Seed Production and Cultivation Agrotechnologies Research Institute’s Cotton Biotechnology Laboratory.
The students carried out complex processes of DNA extraction from sugar crystal and dietary supplement (biologically active additive) samples. Laboratory staff also introduced students to the CRISPR/Cas gene engineering technology.
The students closely studied working in sterile laboratory conditions, in vitro methods, and the practical importance of genetic research for agriculture.
