Wang Kunfeng, a citizen of the People’s Republic of China and a graduate student at the Department of Agro-economics of Tashkent State Agrarian University, has successfully defended his master’s thesis.
The thesis is entitled “Analysis of the Current State of Cotton Clusters in Uzbekistan and Improvement of Their Performance”, covering one of the most relevant areas of the country’s agrarian economy.
During the research, the development trends of cotton-textile clusters, their economic efficiency, production cost structure, and competitiveness factors based on international experience were thoroughly analyzed. In addition, concrete scientific proposals and recommendations were developed to improve cluster performance.
The practical part of the study was tested based on the “Bahodir Logon Textile” cotton-textile cluster in Kuva district, Fergana region. According to the results, crop yield increased by 10%, profitability improved by 33.3%, logistics costs were reduced by 10–12%, and enterprise revenue grew by 14–16%. The academic supervisor was Doctor of Economics, Professor I.S. Ochilov.
This defense represents not only a personal academic achievement but also a clear reflection of the successful development of scientific and educational cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
