Motherwort – a wonderful gift from nature for the nervous system and heart function!

Medicinal Properties: Species of motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca and Leonurus turkestanicus) have long been used for heart, nervous system, and blood pressure-related conditions. This natural remedy is known for its strong calming effect, support of cardiac function, and improvement of blood circulation. It contains alkaloids (leonurine, stachydrine), flavonoids, iridoids, bitter glycosides, essential oils, and vitamins (ascorbic acid).
Scientific Names: Common Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca L.) and Turkestan Motherwort (Leonurus turkestanicus V.I. Krecz. & Kuprian.)
Raw Material:
Aerial part of the plant (Herba Leonuri)
Healing Effects: Natural sedative – calms the nervous system;
• Slows heart rate and lowers blood pressure;
• Beneficial in cases of insomnia, anxiety, and nervous tension;
• Used in treatment of cardiac neuroses and hypertension.
Usage: Infusions and herbal teas are prepared from dried plant material;
• Taken in the form of alcoholic extracts and tinctures;
• Also used as a dietary supplement in tablets and drops.
Note: Due to its heart rate-reducing effects, use with caution in cases of bradycardia. Not recommended during pregnancy or with low blood pressure without medical supervision.
