It is necessary to carry out moisture-recharging irrigation of orchards and vineyards; in pome fruit orchards, shaping and pruning activities should be temporarily suspended until cold temperatures pass; uncovered grapevines, as well as pomegranate and fig bushes, should be urgently protected from cold by covering them with fodder materials and rice straw or by burying them with soil; the trunks and branches of persimmon trees should be wrapped with fodder residues, dry corn stalks, rice straw, and other available materials; in the rows between orchards and vineyards, it is recommended to place piles of fodder residues, straw, and branches mixed with local fertilizers and to carry out smoke fumigation.
