At the educational and scientific experimental farm of Tashkent State Agrarian University, a mango plant (Mangifera indica) was successfully grown from seed and adapted to the climatic conditions of Uzbekistan by breeder scientist, Professor M. Fakhriddinov. The professor provided detailed scientific and practical recommendations on mango cultivation, its adaptation to local climatic conditions, and the fruit ripening period. Mango is a heat-loving subtropical plant. Under the conditions of Uzbekistan, it is recommended to grow mango: In warm and sunny areas protected from wind Mainly in open fields or greenhouse conditions Seed propagation is possible. The plant requires light, fertile, and well-drained soil. Seedlings should initially be grown under conditions protected from cold. Soil pH: 5.5–7.5 Sunlight: at least 8–10 hours per day During the growing season, watering should be moderate, and soil waterlogging must be avoided. In spring, nitrogen fertilizers are recommended, while phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are advised during flowering and fruit-setting stages.
Mango is sensitive to cold temperatures. In winter, the plant should be protected with special covering materials. Damage may occur at temperatures below –2°C. Regular monitoring against pests is necessary. Fruit ripening period: Under the climatic conditions of Uzbekistan, mango fruits ripen from July to September. Fully adapted plants begin to bear fruit after 2–3 years.
