Have you ever heard of a world-famous tropical fruit?

view 195

Rambutan is one of the most popular tropical fruits in the world, distinguished by its unusual appearance with “long hairs.” It is mainly grown in Malaysia, Thailand, India, and South American countries. Beneath its red and hairy peel lies a sweet, tender, white, round flesh. To taste it, the fruit must be cut into two halves. This fruit is mostly recommended to be consumed fresh or preserved in sugar syrup. One should be very careful when growing and tasting this fruit, as its raw seeds are toxic, while roasted seeds are harmless. When purchasing, it is recommended to pay attention to its color — the pinker the fruit, the sweeter and tastier it is.
