The Table of 2050: Who Will Feed Humanity and How?

Today, food security is no longer just about bread or harvests. It has become a global issue closely connected to water, soil, ecology, digitalization, healthy nutrition, and the fate of future generations.
In his article published in the newspaper “Yangi O‘zbekiston,” the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Academician Ibrohim Abdurahmonov provides an in-depth analysis of how to meet the food demand of more than 9 billion people by 2050, as well as issues such as water scarcity, climate change, microplastics, and the importance of modern agricultural technologies. The author emphasizes that the most important solution for the future will be the synergy of science, innovation, and the human factor in agriculture.
The article also highlights ongoing reforms in the agrarian sector of New Uzbekistan, the implementation of water-saving technologies, the development of “green” agriculture, and key priorities in ensuring food security.
