A memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University, N. Oblomuradov, and the CEO of the South Korean company "ENVELOPS CO., LTD," Sung Yoon.
This memorandum is aimed at implementing the "Carbon-Free Cotton APV Nexus Project" — an innovative project for carbon-free cotton cultivation. The project entails the development of cotton production based on solar energy and modern hydroponic technologies. The project framework includes the installation of a 10-megawatt agrivoltaic (solar-based) system, modern hydroponic smart farms, renewable energy sources, and the implementation of smart agricultural technologies. This partnership will contribute to innovation, environmental sustainability, and energy efficiency in the agricultural sector. This project was initiated by Nobel Prize laureate Rae Kwon Chung, and it is planned to be financed by Sung Yoon, the Chief Executive Officer of ENVELOPS CO., LTD. The Government of South Korea is also planning to allocate 1 million USD to support the project.
