In order to implement the instructions given at the meeting held on February 23, 2026, under the leadership of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, systematic dialogue has been initiated with the Afghan side. Within this framework, an online meeting was held today with representatives of Balkh University of Afghanistan. The meeting was attended by the Rector of Tashkent State Agrarian University, the Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Transformation and Strategic Development, as well as the team of the Faculty of Agroengineering and Agrotechnologies. From Balkh University, the Vice-Rector, the Dean of the Faculty, and six Heads of Departments took part in the discussion. During the meeting, the parties thoroughly discussed the organization of short-term training courses for Afghan youth, the launch of professional development programs for faculty members, and the introduction of online courses.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to prepare a draft Memorandum of Understanding in the near future. It was also decided to organize an official visit to Afghanistan in the first half of May by the Rector of the university, Narzullo Oblomuradov, and Vice-Rector Abduaziz Abduvasikov, in order to sign the memorandum and initiate practical cooperation.
