view 20

M. Umarov, a representative of the Faculty of Plant Protection, Agrochemistry, and Soil Science at Tashkent State Agrarian University, actively participated in the event held in the Kamashi district of the Kashkadarya region.
The event, titled "Technologies for No-Till Crop Planting and Rainwater Harvesting in Rainfed Lands," focused on discussing soil fertility improvement, moisture conservation, yield enhancement, and the broad implementation of resource-saving agricultural practices.
During the "Field Day," participants were introduced to No-Till technology (planting without soil tillage), soil profile and infiltration tests, modern seeding machinery, and practical demonstrations on efficient rainwater harvesting and utilization.
The "Food Systems, Land Use and Restoration Impact Program in Uzbekistan" (FOLUR-Uzbekistan), funded by the GEF, is being implemented by the National Committee for Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the FAO.

This event provides farmers, specialists, and project partners with the opportunity to study soil-protective, water-saving, and climate-smart agricultural technologies directly in the field conditions of rainfed areas.
