The Department of Biotechnology is engaged in training specialists such as biotechnologists, researchers, teachers, microbiologists, genetic engineers, and specialists in microclonal propagation for agriculture and the food industry.
The main areas of activity of the department include microclonal propagation, development and application of biopreparations for plant protection, technology for the production of bacterial fertilizers, preparation of biological products based on nodule bacteria, obtaining entomopathogenic biopreparations and their application against pests, rules of working in microbiology laboratories, cultivation of microorganisms, isolation of pure cultures of microorganisms, study of antagonistic properties of microorganisms, and development of technologies for producing preparations based on them.
Students acquire knowledge and practical skills in these areas.
The department staff conduct scientific research and implement bachelor’s and master’s educational programs. The department also cooperates with agricultural enterprises and scientific institutions.
