Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, István Jakab, visited Tashkent State Agrarian University

Today, the leadership of Tashkent State Agrarian University held a meeting with the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, Mr. István Jakab. He was accompanied by Mr. József Rózsa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to the Republic of Uzbekistan. As part of the visit, the distinguished guest delivered a master class for the university’s professors, doctoral students, and undergraduates. In his speech, István Jakab shared advanced knowledge and practical experience, providing detailed insights into the successful Hungarian company Master Good and modern approaches in the agricultural sector.
The event was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. It was emphasized that the peoples of Uzbekistan and Hungary are bound by historical roots and long-standing ties of friendship. Thanks to the political will of the leaders of both countries and their regular high-level meetings, strategic cooperation is steadily strengthening, covering the fields of education and agriculture as well.
The parties paid special attention to the outcomes of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Hungary in May of this year, noting that this visit elevated bilateral relations to a new stage. The Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Transformation, and Strategic Development of Tashkent State Agrarian University, Mr. Abduaziz Abduvasikov, acquainted the guest with the large-scale reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan within the framework of the new edition of the Constitution and the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy. On the eve of the 95th anniversary of the university, István Jakab expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and highly appreciated the reforms being implemented in the country. He also emphasized that Hungary supports expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of education. “According to him, the European Union allocates 200 grant places every year for Uzbek students to study free of charge at Hungarian universities.”
