A decrease in yield can also be caused by improper transplanting of seedlings. First of all, seedlings should not be transplanted when they are too young or overgrown. The most optimal stage is a healthy seedling with 4–6 true leaves. Damaging the roots during transplanting is a serious mistake; therefore, it is recommended to remove the seedling together with the soil around its roots. Transplanting during strong sunlight is also incorrect, as the seedling may wilt quickly. The best time for transplanting is early morning or evening. Attention should also be paid to planting depth: planting too deep or too shallow slows down growth; the root collar should remain at soil level. Transplanting without watering is another major mistake—soil must be moist both before and after planting. After transplanting, light watering and protection from direct sunlight for 3–5 days will help the seedlings adapt more quickly.
