In order to preserve green areas, ensure the healthy growth of ornamental trees, and strengthen ecological balance, a number of agro-technical measures were implemented on the university campus. In particular, faculty members of the Department of Forestry and Landscape Design and the Department of Plant Protection and Quarantine jointly organized fertilization activities for ornamental trees during the winter dormancy period.
During the event, taking into account the biological characteristics of the trees as well as the soil and climatic conditions of the area, phosphorus and potassium mineral fertilizers, as well as environmentally friendly organic fertilizer — biogumus — were applied. These fertilizers help strengthen the root system, increase resistance to cold, and ensure that trees enter the spring vegetation period in a healthy condition.
According to specialists, such fertilization carried out during the winter dormancy period plays an important role in the subsequent stages of tree development, significantly improving leaf formation, flowering, and overall ornamental appearance. The use of biogumus also increases soil fertility and enhances the activity of beneficial microorganisms.
In the future, it is planned to consistently continue such activities aimed at expanding green areas, maintaining ornamental plants, and ensuring ecological sustainability on the university campus.
