Department of Medicinal Plants

The Department of Medicinal Plants is engaged in training highly qualified specialists in the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants. The main areas of the department’s activity include the study of natural resources of medicinal plants, their introduction, analysis of bioecological characteristics, improvement of propagation technologies and the implementation of innovative approaches in this field. The department’s academic staff conducts educational programs at both bachelor’s and master’s levels. In its research activities, the department actively develops international cooperation, particularly with the prestigious Quaid-i-Azam University in Pakistan. Currently, the Department of medicinal plants has a total of 15 teaching staff members, including 1 professor (Doctor of biological sciences), 5 associate professors (PhD in biological or agricultural sciences), 6 assistants, 1 senior lecturer (PhD in biological sciences), 1 trainee teacher and 1 part-time assistant.
